Not for those who have it all together.
Jesus had just called Levi (Matthew, a tax collector) to follow Him.
Mark 2:15
While Jesus was having dinner at Levi’s house, many tax collectors and “sinners” were eating with him and his disciples, for there were many who followed him.
You know, The ” sinners ” who don’t have it all figured out. You know those who are less than… “Those people…
Mark 2:16
16 When the teachers of the law who were Pharisees saw him eating with the “sinners” and tax collectors, they asked his disciples:
“Why does he eat with tax collectors and ‘sinners’?”
How could someone who says he is good associate with them?!
Look what Jesus says:
Mark 2:17
On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
Jesus didn’t come for those who think they have it all together, those who are better than…
Jesus came for us sinners.
Those of us who will admit we have done wrong and know we need help, healing, and forgiveness. We need His righteousness to cover our sins.
I am so thankful Jesus came for us sinners.
