Isaiah 55:1-3a
55 “Come, all you who are thirsty,
come to the waters;
and you who have no money,
come, buy and eat!
Come, buy wine and milk
without money and without cost.
God is the giver of life. God is the maker of all things. God is the provider. God, the true reality.
Only He can satisfy.
Only He can fill the deepest longing of the soul.
For He made us to be in relationship with Him.
So, He asks:
Isaiah 55:2
Why spend money on what is not bread,
and your labor on what does not satisfy?
Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good,
and your soul will delight in the richest of fare.
Give ear and come to me;
hear me, that your soul may live.
We chase after so many things. Pleasure, wealth and security, fame, family, success, etc…
Longing to satisfy our souls. We spend all we have, and yet…
He invites us to come. To eat what is good. To get bread that satisfies the soul. Only He can give.
Come to Him so that your soul may live.
But though the invitation is open, we must take advantage of it today. We are not promised tomorrow.
Isaiah 55:6-7
6 Seek the Lord while he may be found;
call on him while he is near.
7 Let the wicked forsake his way
and the evil man his thoughts.
Let him turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on him,
and to our God, for he will freely pardon.
Turn to God. He will have mercy.
He will pardon.
He will feed your soul.
