I love Ezekiel’s response when in the valley of dead bones.
Ezekiel 37:3
He asked me, “Son of man, can these bones live?”
I said, “O Sovereign Lord, you alone know.”
God tells him to declare the impossible.
Ezekiel 37:4-6
Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! 5 This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life. 6 I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.’ ”
I love Ezekiel – he does what God says.
Ezekiel 37:10
So I prophesied as he commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet—a vast army.
Wow! Just wow!
I don’t know about you, but I have several impossible (dead) things in front of me.
I can hear God’s voice saying to me as I look at them. “Can these dead bones live?”
I love Ezekiel’s reply, “Only you know God.”
God tells Him to believe Him. To prophecy over those dead bones. Ezekiel obeys, and God brings the dead to life.
What is God asking me to do? Even if it seems dead and impossible. Do I think this will get done because of me? Or am I with Ezekiel? Only you know God.
Only God can bring the dead to life.
Will we obey Him when he asks us to declare it in our situation?
Let us believe God and obey Him. I am reminded of Jesus’ response to Peter, “With man, it is not possible, but with God all things are possible.”
Let’s hear His voice in the valley of dry bones, obey Him in the impossible, and watch God bring the dead to life.
