Has someone wronged you? — Psalm 37:1, 3–5, 7–8, 27, 34, 39–40
What should you do when someone is acting wrongly?
In reading Psalm 37 this morning, I am struck by how God will take care of those who trust in Him, and He will deal with those who are doing wrong.
There is so much in this Psalm; you must read it, but here are just a few excerpts.
Psalm 37:1 (NIV84):
Do not fret because of evil men
or be envious of those who do wrong;
What should I do?
Psalm 37:3–5, 7–8, 27, 34 (NIV84):
Trust in the Lord and do good…
4 Delight yourself in the Lord…
5 Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in him…
7 Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him…
8 Refrain from anger and turn from wrath;
do not fret—it leads only to evil…
27 Turn from evil and do good…
34 Wait for the Lord and keep his way…
God has you, sees, and will make things right.
Psalm 37:39–40 (NIV84):
The salvation of the righteous comes from the Lord;
he is their stronghold in time of trouble.
40 The Lord helps them and delivers them; he delivers them from the wicked and saves them, because they take refuge in him.
Let us leave those who do wrong in God’s hands. He will deal with them.
May we put our trust in God. May we focus our hearts on Him. May we be people of peace and be those who honour God with our lives.
