Several great verses I had memorized as a child. — Psalm 119:9, 11, 18
Reading Psalm 119 this morning and was struck by the 150 verses centered around God’s word.
Psalm 119:9 (NIV84):
9 How can a young man keep his way pure?
By living according to your word.
Psalm 119:11 (NIV84):
I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.
The centrality of the Word of God. Keeping it in our hearts and allowing it to shape our thoughts.
This is what will help us to know God and how to follow Him.
Keeping His word in our thoughts will help us to discern between right and wrong. It will remind us of God’s ways that we may live in His truth, not our perceptions.
Thank you, God, for your word. Oh, how it helps me, keeps me, guides me, comforts me, and helps me know and love you more.
May I feast on your word every day so my soul will be nourished by you.
Psalm 119:18 (NIV84):
18 Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law.
