Love and Faithfulness — Proverbs 3:3-4
Wow, are those important. Bound together, they are an incredible force.
When I think about the relationships in my life, what are the key things I am longing for? These two are at the top of the list.
Reading in Proverbs this morning:
Proverbs 3:3-4 (NIV84)
3 “Let love and faithfulness never leave you;
bind them around your neck,
write them on the tablet of your heart.”
4 “Then you will win favor and a good name
in the sight of God and man.”
May we be people who keep our word, our commitments. May we be present for others both in the fun and in the hard. Faithfulness.
May we put others above ourselves. Their needs are ahead of our own. May we consider their situation and desire to act for their good. May we look to encourage and strengthen those around us. Love.
May these be the qualities that shape our lives.
God and people will see and feel this from us and will honour us for it.
Love and faithfulness help me, Father, to have these in view as I engage you and others.
