It has been said, “It is better to give than receive.” — Proverbs 11:24–25
God’s economy is upside down. When we withhold and try to keep for ourselves, we lose out in many, many ways.
Proverbs 11:24–25 (NIV84):
24 One man gives freely, yet gains even more;
another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty.
25 A generous man will prosper;
he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.
God is generous and He wants us to be generous as well.
We are all encouraged when we are around those who are generous. It is amazing how we get so much from sharing with others.
Father, help me be more like you, and be generous with those around me. With my time, my things and with my encouragement.
