Laziness. The proverbs talk a lot about the sluggard. — Proverbs 10:4–5, 26
Proverbs 10:4–5 (NIV84):
4 Lazy hands make a man poor,
but diligent hands bring wealth.
5 He who gathers crops in summer is a wise son,
but he who sleeps during harvest is a disgraceful son.
We hear a lot said about this generation finding it hard to be diligent at work, like this is the first generation of people who are challenged to work.
The Proverbs were written thousands of years ago.
The temptation to make excuses and to wait a little longer. To not be diligent at working, has been around since man has been around.
The proverbs have much to say about it.
But I don’t want to be this guy:
Proverbs 10:26 (NIV84):
26 As vinegar to the teeth and smoke to the eyes,
so is a sluggard to those who send him.
Father, may I be diligent to do the responsibilities you have put in my life.
May I be a blessing to those around me and may I benefit those I am responsible for.
