What are our plans guided by? Are we living those out?
We see that godly motivations and doing what is right have real and good rewards.
Isaiah 32:8, 17
8 But the noble man makes noble plans,
and by noble deeds he stands.
17 The fruit of righteousness will be peace;
the effect of righteousness will be quietness and confidence forever.
The prophet Isaiah is telling the people that judgement is coming, but woven throughout the book is the deliverance of God. He gives the key to those God will deliver and sustain.
Isaiah 33:5-6
The Lord is exalted, for he dwells on high;
he will fill Zion with justice and righteousness.
6 He will be the sure foundation for your times,
a rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge;
the fear of the Lord is the key to this treasure.
Again, we see that “The fear of the Lord is the key to this treasure.”
Isaiah 33:15-16
He who walks righteously
and speaks what is right,
who rejects gain from extortion
and keeps his hand from accepting bribes,
who stops his ears against plots of murder
and shuts his eyes against contemplating evil—
16 this is the man who will dwell on the heights,
whose refuge will be the mountain fortress.
Why will those who fear God and live out rightly His ways be blessed and cared for by God?
Isaiah 33:22
For the Lord is our judge,
the Lord is our lawgiver,
the Lord is our king;
it is he who will save us.
Is He our King? Do we recognize Him as the rightful judge of all things? He is the one who makes the rules, not us, that He alone can save us.
Isaiah 32:7
The fruit of righteousness will be peace;
the effect of righteousness will be quietness and confidence forever.
