What do we do in the dark times of our lives?

When doubt and disappointment come. When those around you question you or even mock your way.

Where do we find strength?

Isaiah 50:7-9

Because the Sovereign Lord helps me,

I will not be disgraced.

Therefore have I set my face like flint,

and I know I will not be put to shame.

8 He who vindicates me is near.

Who then will bring charges against me?

Let us face each other!

Who is my accuser?

Let him confront me!

9 It is the Sovereign Lord who helps me.

Who is he that will condemn me?

They will all wear out like a garment;

the moths will eat them up.

We must stand up against the doubt and the doubters. We must not allow those voices to dissuade us from following God.

Sometimes, we feel abandoned when we are unclear about what is next. Sometimes, others question us and can even push against what we believe God is asking us to do.

We can start to doubt. We can give in. We can get depressed and lose hope.

God is calling us to put our hope in Him.

Isaiah 50:10

10 Who among you fears the Lord

and obeys the word of his servant?

Let him who walks in the dark,

who has no light,

trust in the name of the Lord

and rely on his God.

The thing about faith is that it trusts God in the dark.

I am visualizing a pilot flying in the fog and relying on his instrument panels to know where he is and where he is going, though he can not see.

Greater than a dashboard is our God.

He has proven Himself again and again.

Let us fear God and trust Him, especially in the dark.
