Paul shows us that Israel’s rejection of Jesus opened the door for the rest of us to be grafted into God’s family by faith. Many Jews were cut off because of their unbelief, refusing to trust in Christ (Romans 11:20). But we shouldn’t be arrogant about this—God, in His mercy, can use our faith to stir a righteous jealousy in them, drawing them back to Him.

This beautiful interplay of God’s sovereign plan and our response invites us to wonder: How does God’s perfect will work with our choice to believe? His sovereignty is vast, yet His love calls us to participate. Scripture reveals that God wants everyone to be saved and to know Him (1 Timothy 2:4). He loves every person He created—so much that He gave His only Son, Jesus, so that whoever believes in Him can have eternal life (John 3:16).

Romans 11:33-36

“Oh, the depth of the riches and the wisdom and the knowledge of God! How unsearchable His judgments and untraceable His ways! For who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been His counselor? And who has ever given to God, that He should be repaid? For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen.”

I echo Paul: “To Him be the glory forever. Amen!” We’ll never fully grasp how God weaves His perfect will with our choices—His wisdom is far beyond us. Yet we know this: He’s made a way for everyone to know Him, to be forgiven, and to be adopted into His family through faith in Jesus’ death and resurrection. We’ll be free from our sin nature, with new bodies, living with Him forever. When we place our faith in Him, trusting what He’s revealed despite the mystery, we bring Him glory. What a privilege if our faith draws others to Him! Do I trust God’s wisdom and choose to believe? Let’s thank Him for His grace, place our faith in Jesus, and share His love, giving Him the glory He deserves—for from Him and through Him and to Him are all things!
