We find the prophet Habakkuk in this situation. He was in the part of history where utter destruction was happening to his people and their land.
We read in Habakkuk 3:17-18
Though the fig tree does not bud
and there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop fails
and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the stalls,
Nothing is going right, and there seems to be no hope.
Look how Habakkuk responds verses 18-19
18 yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will be joyful in God my Savior.
The Sovereign Lord is my strength;
he makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
he enables me to go on the heights.
Our only hope is God. We need to look to Him. He can give us the strength to keep going and the courage to take the next hill in front of us.
Sometimes, our circumstances are very hard, and we are hopeless if we only trust the things around us.
But God.
Beyond my circumstances.
Beyond what I can do.
Beyond what others are doing to me.
Habakkuk 3:18-19
18 yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will be joyful in God my Savior.
The Sovereign Lord is my strength;
he makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
he enables me to go on the heights.
