Romans 8 is so packed full of incredible acts of God toward us! His Spirit is interceding for us, praying with a longing so deep it’s like groaning, searching our hearts and minds to ask for exactly what we need according to God’s will. God also promises that He’ll work all things together for the good of those who love Him. He assures us that He knew who would come to Him, and He planned that those who do would become like His Son, Jesus—brothers and sisters with Christ, fully made righteous and with Him in glory. If God is for us, who can stand against us? Who can even bring an accusation against those God has made righteous through His Son?
“He did not even spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all. How will He not also with Him grant us everything?”
Nobody can bring an accusation against those who have placed their faith in Christ. For it is God who judges, and Christ not only died for us but is sitting at the right hand of the Father, making intercession for us. With this, Paul concludes:
“Who can separate us from the love of Christ? Can affliction or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? … For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Nothing can separate us from the love of Christ—nothing! We need to go back over this text again and again and mine out immeasurable amounts of God’s love, care, sacrifice, provision, and GRACE!
Dear friend, if you’ve made Jesus Lord of your life, you have the greatest promises, blessings, and hope that no one can ever take from you. You are His—loved, adopted, interceded for, redeemed, justified, glorified, predestined, died for, risen for, and brought into His family, forever loved by Him. Let’s thank Him for His unending love, trust Him through every challenge, and share this incredible hope with others.
