As we began to understand the holiness of God and the lostness of those who have rejected God. When we start to grasp the judgment that awaits, what is our heart’s response?
God is showing Ezekiel the judgment He is about to bring under no uncertain terms.
He instructs Ezekiel.
Ezekiel 21:6-7
Therefore, groan, son of man! Groan before them with broken hearts and bitter grief. 7 And when they ask you,
We see God yearning and calling out compassionately through His servant Ezekiel for the people to turn to Him.
I am reminded of Psalm 126:5-6
Those who sow in tears
will reap with songs of joy.
6 He who goes out weeping,
carrying seed to sow,
will return with songs of joy,
Father, break our hearts for those around us. May we groan as we consider the judgment that will come?
May you grow our hearts to love those who reject you. May that love and genuine compassion be realized, and may they see your love through us. May they ask why we even care? May we bring them the good news of your salvation, forgiveness, and love offered freely through your Son.
