It is worth repeating. — Ecclesiastes 12: 13-14
The wisest man who ever lived concludes all his wisdom with this:
Ecclesiastes 12:13–14 (NIV84):
“13 Now all has been heard;
here is the conclusion of the matter:
Fear God and keep his commandments,
for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God will bring every deed into judgment,
including every hidden thing,
whether it is good or evil.”
The chasing after pleasure, power, and wealth is meaningless.
Life in this broken world, under the sun, has an end.
There is something greater, there is eternity.
There is someone greater, God.
We should give our lives for God and we should live our lives with eternity in view.
I am reminded of a quote from Jim Elliott: “He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose.”
