Do you know what makes God upset? The most upset? — Proverbs 6:16–19
Listen to Proverbs 6:16–19
Proverbs 6:16–19 (NIV84):
There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him:
17 haughty eyes, a lying tongue,
hands that shed innocent blood,
18 a heart that devises wicked schemes,
feet that are quick to rush into evil,
19 a false witness who pours out lies
and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers.
Did you see what I saw? God hates it when we act against each other, especially with pride and deceipt.
Lying, scheming, false witness, someone who stirs up dissension. Doing things that divide us.
Wow!
We all have felt the painful effects of others lying about us or purposely dividing us from others by their words. In their pride, scheming and trying to tear us down.
God wants us to love each other and to build each other up.
In fact the thing He hates the most is when we act maliciously against one another.
Father, help us to love each other, help us to forgive each other. God, help us not be jealous or somehow twisted in our heart towards others.
May we understand your great love and value for each of us, made in your image.
May we honor each other and if we have a problem, make things right with each other.
May we never be party to these things you hate most: haughty eyes, lying, hurting, scheming, stirring up dissension. God, you hate these things the most.
