It is astonishing to consider all that God has done for us, pouring out His grace and love through incredible gifts.

Romans 5:1-2

“Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. We have also obtained access through Him by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we boast in the hope of the glory of God.”

By faith, we are justified, declared righteous before God. By faith, we have peace with God—no longer at enmity, no longer fearing judgment, but aligned with our Creator in perfect peace. By faith, we have access to the Father. This is extraordinary! In the Old Testament, only the high priest could enter the Holy of Holies once a year, with blood to atone for sins, while Gentiles were relegated to an outer courtyard, far from God’s presence. Yet Paul declares that through faith in Jesus, we now have direct access to God Himself. We see this physically demonstrated by the ripping of the Temple curtain at the death of Jesus on the cross, signifying that the barrier between God and humanity was forever removed (Matthew 27:51).

This is the grace in which we stand, and this is our boast: our sins are forgiven, we have peace with God, we fear neither judgment nor condemnation, and we have access to the Father through the death and resurrection of His Son, Jesus. God has bestowed these blessings through His grace and mercy, but we receive them by faith alone (Ephesians 2:8-9).

Have I truly placed my faith in Jesus, embracing these gifts of grace? Let us trust in Him today, rejoicing in the peace, forgiveness, and access we have through Christ, and proclaim His praises, sharing these wondrous gifts with all, that they too may know the hope of God’s glory.
