What pleases God? How do we delight Him? — Psalm 147:10–11
Is it the strength of what we have, or is it the power we possess?
Psalm 147:10–11 (NIV84):
10 His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse,
nor his delight in the legs of a man;
11 the Lord delights in those who fear him,
who put their hope in his unfailing love.
God is not taken by our strength. He is not enamored by what we possess. We can not woo Him or put Him in awe.
Rather, He delights in us living in the truth and reality of who He is.
Fearing Him.
Believing He is the only One who can sustain us.
Trusting in His unfailing love.
Father, help me not to trust in myself or what I have. May I remember who you are and place my hope in you and your unfailing love.
