We see that most people want to live life their way on their terms.
Not realizing all along it is the love of God and His grace that has sustained them.
We see pride keep us from God, from submitting ourselves to Him.
Though God allows us to make these choices, they are not wise.
Most people stumble at the idea that God has any right to lead their lives.
This is not new. It was the people of the earth before the flood, and the people of Israel before Assyria completely wiped them out and carried many of them away.
So the prophet Hosea closes out his book:
Hosea 14:9
Who is wise? He will realize these things.
Who is discerning? He will understand them.
The ways of the Lord are right;
the righteous walk in them,
but the rebellious stumble in them.
Father, you are the only true God. Your ways are best, and we choose to follow you.
